Richland Northeast High School welcomes Coach William Richardson as our new Head Varsity Football Coach!

Coach William Richardson is a native of Sumter, SC.  As a graduate of Sumter High School in 2004, Richardson was a member of the 2003 State Runner-Up team as a quarterback.  He continued his collegiate playing career at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC.  While there, he was a member of 3 consecutive Big South Conference Championship teams from 2004 – 2006.  After graduating from Coastal in 2008, he moved to Atlanta, GA to begin his coaching career.  While there he’s coached at several metro Atlanta high schools.  His most current previous position was at Westlake High School where he served as the Assistant Head Coach among other roles from 2016 – 2018.  During his time at Westlake, his teams won 3 consecutive Region 2-7A titles along with the deepest playoff run in school history in 2016 (4th round).  Coach Richardson is excited to return home for his first head coaching assignment and looking forward to the work of making Richland Northeast football relevant again.
