Girls Varsity Tennis · Girls Tennis loses a close match to York

The Lady Cavaliers tennis team lost a close match to York High at RNHS on Tuesday October 4. 2016. Our region record is now 2-5. After losing the first three matches of the day, #1 singles Grace Harling and #2 singles Claire Maddox won in exciting third set tie breakers. “These ladies are gaining confidence each week and it shows in their performance. Tennis is as much mental as it is physical. It is also very emotional. A positive mental attitude is imperative for tennis players, to weather the highs and lows in every match. We are learning how to win”, Coach Harling. In the final singles match of the day, Kai Iekar lost in the second set tie breaker 4-7. “Kai played great today but came up just a little short against a tough opponent. I am proud of her effort and the effort of our whole team”.Our next scheduled match is away against Ridge View on Tuesday October 11, 2016. We will host Westwood on Thursday October 13, 2016, which is Senior night. Please come support our Lady Cav’s as we fight for a regional birth.  Go Cav’s!
